IskayPet Unifies Corporate Knowledge with Amazon Bedrock
According to AWS. The pet care company deployed a managed RAG solution to streamline access to operational documents across multiple countries.
- • IskayPet eliminated the need for manual RAG infrastructure by adopting Amazon Bedrock Managed Knowledge Bases.
- • The system integrates directly with existing SharePoint repositories to maintain document-level access controls.
- • Development was accelerated using Kiro and Claude Haiku 4.5 for both frontend and infrastructure deployment.
Overcoming Knowledge Silos
IskayPet, a major pet care provider in Iberia, struggled with fragmented operational knowledge stored across hundreds of SharePoint documents in four languages. To improve efficiency, the company implemented Amazon Bedrock Managed Knowledge Bases to create an internal assistant. This solution allows employees to query policies and procedures in natural language, receiving grounded answers with source citations without requiring the company to manage vector databases or ingestion pipelines.
Technical Implementation and Scaling
The project team utilized Kiro, an agentic development environment, alongside Claude Haiku 4.5 to build the assistant's frontend and provision the necessary AWS infrastructure. By using the native SharePoint connector, IskayPet avoided costly data migrations and maintained existing permission models. The architecture supports multi-country operations by enabling hybrid search and managed reranking, ensuring that employees only access documents they are authorized to view.
