NVIDIA and C-BRAIN Apply AI to Accelerate Dementia and Alzheimer's Research
According to NVIDIA. The Consortium for Biomedical Research and AI in Neurodegeneration (C-BRAIN) is collaborating with NVIDIA to use artificial intelligence to speed up scientific discoveries.
- • C-BRAIN partners with NVIDIA to utilize artificial intelligence in overcoming biomedical research bottlenecks.
- • The consortium runs 64 NVIDIA data center GPUs on premises along with Microsoft Azure cloud nodes.
- • Researchers have developed tools like OpenScientist and InsightEngine to automate analyses and test hypotheses.
Accelerating Discovery
The Consortium for Biomedical Research and AI in Neurodegeneration (C-BRAIN), working with NVIDIA, is using AI to change the pace of discovery for millions living with dementia. Alzheimer’s disease remains a leading global health challenge with over 10 million new dementia cases diagnosed each year, while bottlenecks involve too much data and too slow a pace of synthesis.
Infrastructure and Tools
C-BRAIN currently runs 64 NVIDIA data center GPUs on premises alongside cloud-based nodes on Microsoft Azure, with plans for additional NVIDIA GPU capacity including NVIDIA Blackwell systems. Researchers have built OpenScientist, an open-source agentic AI co-scientist, and InsightEngine, a research platform that uses agentic AI to test hypotheses against scientific literature.
